Second Saturday

I was so proud of the folks at The Bridge this past Saturday.  We had our inaugural Second Saturday, a time for our community to serve the community we are located in.  Each time will involve prayer, and community service, and will be led by Aaron and Robin Sayers.  This past Saturday we prayer walked through Clifton, and then spent about 45 minutes picking up trash.

You wouldn’t believe how much trash there was, and you wouldn’t believe how many people stopped to say hello or ask why we were doing what we were doing.  We actually had someone from a community group stop and ask us about connecting with them in some upcoming events, (Let me think…uh YES!) and a local pizza shop offer to buy us all lunch for our work.  (Again, let me think…uh YES!)

Between the connections, the pizza and wings, and the heart of service by our folks…it was a good day.  Every second Saturday of the month we will be out and about in Clifton.  I am looking forward to seeing how God uses it.

What is your church doing in the community?

What ideas do you have for how we can have greater impact?
