Anger

“when angry count to four, when really angry swear” -Mark Twain

“Speak when you are angry, and you will make the best speech you will ever regret” -Laurence Peter

“anger is one letter short of danger” -anonymous

“whatever is begun in anger ends in shame” -Benjamin Franklin

Resonate with anyone?

Over the years I have learned that anger is one of the first emotions men process through. Even though the cuase and capacity my be different, my wife gets frustrated and hurt, I get ticked and worse. When I talk to men they are often able to note that they are angry, and why they are angry, but often have difficulty knowing what to do with their anger.

As a church, we need to be able to train men how to process their anger because…
They are the initiators and tone setter in their home (even being passive and lazy sets a tone)
Because it is their job to train their children (That training is taught and caught. Can we agree that the growing amount of uninvolved dads, and the rise in violence could be more than coincidental?)
Because anger is one of the greates threats to a spirit filled life in men
*Love and anger…
*Joy and anger…
*Peace and anger…
*Longsuffering and anger…
*Gentleness and anger…
*Goodness and anger…
*Faith and anger…
*Meekness and anger…
*Temperence and anger…
