Mark actually offered a reverse gifting for his birthday, and sent the to book anyone who emailed him before his birthday. (What a guy!) I took him up on the offer, and by end of day, he had emailed me back and the book was on its way to Cincy.
Even if I had paid for this book, it would have been a great read. The theme comes from 2 Samuel 23:20-21, and is the story of Benaiah, a man who followed and killed a lion in a snowy pit, and the arch of his life following his courageous act.
Mark does a great job reframing our understanding of who God is, how powerful He is, and in turn how we view the world, trials, prayer, faith, and risk. For anyone who has questions about why their version of Christianity feels dull, this is a great place to start.
